Message	of self worth is not overly committed to the car, and I don't mean financially. If the car went away tomorrow, would you be the same person? Sure, you would be angry and disappointed if the car was stolen or wrecked, but does it change the person you are by having or not having it? I don't think so. And I bet if and when you sell it there will even be some sense of relief. An old cliche is, "The car does not make the man." We all know someone who seems like such a dickwad because he thinks he's hot because of the car he drives. You sound like a well grounded guy who gets it. There's nothing wrong with sinking time and money into a car or any hobby for that matter, if you can afford it, and the "object" does define your sense of self worth.
